* In-home massage is a great way to enjoy a high-quality massage in the comfort of your home, office, or other location of your choice. There are many advantages to receiving a massage at home, such as avoiding the stress of driving and dealing with traffic, as well as the comfort of not having to leave your home and experience stressful outside environments. In addition, massage therapists can customize their massage technique and style to suit each client’s specific needs and preferences, resulting in a unique, personalized, and highly effective massage.

* For these reasons, in-home massage can be an excellent option for the elderly, those with limited mobility, or anyone who prefers the privacy and comfort of a family environment rather than a spa or massage clinic. Plus, by getting a massage in your own home, you can enjoy a comfortable and relaxing massage experience without having to worry about traveling to another location or juggling busy schedules. In general, in-home massage is an excellent option for those seeking the comfort, convenience, and benefits of a personalized massage in the safety and comfort of their own home.

* Take the time to clear the area where you will receive your massage, leaving ample space for the therapist to set up a table and work.

* Be sure to give your masseuse clear directions to the venue, and if you have locked doors or entrances, leave them open or meet with the masseuse to unlock them.

* You should also encourage children, pets, and housemates to entertain themselves elsewhere during the massage.

* Preferably with little lighting.

* We recommend taking a shower before and after therapy.

* Before the massage, try to avoid eating large meals.

* If you are going to eat something, better at least an hour before, because it is not advisable to go with a stomach that is too full, when digestion is taking place.

* You should also not take alcohol or other stimulants.

* We ask that you turn off or silence your cell phone or other devices that may interrupt the session with sounds.

* We also recommend going to the bathroom before starting the session, to go to the bathroom to avoid interruptions during therapy

* It’s not a good idea to request in-home massages if your home is stressful for you; If you have pets, children, noisy neighbors or roommates, you may want to get a massage at a spa for a more relaxing experience. Also, keep in mind that when massage therapists make house calls, they need a lot of space to set up their tables and work.

* If you don’t have a clear space, you won’t get a great massage, because the masseur may have to contort your body to fit.

*(clothing therapy) For Cranio-Sacral therapy and Ergonomic Chair Massage you must remain fully clothed, wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.

*(therapy without clothes or semi-dress) At the time of the therapy session, everything will depend on the degree of comfort of the client, you can remove only the upper part or stay only with underwear or naked, as everyone prefers. In any case, sheets will always be used to cover the client for his comfort and professionalism.

Depending on the type of therapy you receive and your state of health, generally the kneading of the human body expresses in your brain a sensation of tranquility and comfort in your body, which leads you to feel de-stressed, relaxed and calm, therefore that can cause drowsiness and last according to your physical and mental activity that you perform.

It depends on each person on how they feel with their body.  The average is about once a month.

* This is a question that people in consultation often ask me about the massage. There is no definite rule to answer this question.

* There are several personal factors of each one to take into account. For example, time, the economy, the level of stress that a person can accumulate due to their work, responsibilities, sports practice, etc.

* I recommend, depending on these factors and the needs of each person, at least one massage per month. This way you can release the tensions that accumulate on a day-to-day basis and these tensions are not allowed to settle in the body. In fact, the muscles, by accumulating so much tension, are shortening. This can lead to various mobility problems. Flexibility can even be lost and sometimes pressure can occur in areas where there is some nerve branching, such as the neck or lumbar area.

* All of the above can cause a lot of pain and even cause sciatica or cervicalgia. Those who suffer from cervical pain may have dizziness. Usually a kind of heaviness is noticed, as if he were carrying a heavy backpack.

* In the case of sports massages, it is highly recommended to do 1 massage at least every 2 weeks and if it is better every week. The stress to which the body is subjected during training can be very high. In addition, it is very beneficial because it discharges all muscle tension, prevents possible injuries, eliminates adhesions, helps in the recovery phase and increases physical performance.

* A professional massage can be an effective resource to help any disease. It is also a method of preventing some ailments. It is contraindicated in case of acute colds, fever, intense inflammation, hemorrhage, skin diseases.

It is important to take measures to maintain the effects of the therapy and avoid muscle tension again. Some suggestions that you may find helpful include:

Drink Water: Drink enough water to hydrate your body and help flush out any toxins released during the massage.

Take a relaxing bath: A relaxing hot bath can help relieve any residual pain, along with muscle tension or soreness.

Rest: Take time to rest after your session, rather than being immediately active. Allow your body to rest and absorb the stimulation of the session.

Do stretching exercises: If your therapist suggests stretching exercises, practice regularly to improve flexibility and blood circulation.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol: Take the time to avoid caffeine and alcohol after a massage therapy session, as they can dehydrate you and inhibit relaxation.

* It is important to remember that each person is different, and the answers may vary depending on their health needs and emotional state. Therefore, it is important to discuss any needs or questions you have after the session with your therapist.

At Crystal Bamboo, our therapists manipulate soft tissue using pressure, friction, traction, and kneading to facilitate a variety of outcomes for our Patient/Client, including relaxation, pain reduction, stress, anxiety, and depression.

The time technically required for the application of certain therapies and massages is used; during therapies and/or massages, the time dedicated to each client is limited and structured. Within this period of time, the therapist decides what activities will be performed in order for the massage to have a safe and satisfying result for you, and will make the most important decision before the massage begins regarding how the time will be spent, which may be based on in:

(1) information collected from the client or the client’s caregivers during the assessment,

(2) objectives of the treatment established by the client,

(3) the client’s financial and time constraints,

(4) the parameters established by third party payers such as insurance companies (if applicable).

The general procedures for carrying out some of the therapies that we offer at Crystal Bamboo include: undressing, we will indicate a place where you can store and secure the personal items of the Patient/Client, during the therapy we perform drapery procedures when you have to change position. Our users have different comfort levels when undressing, so we may allow patients/clients to remain partially clothed if that is their desire. Below we will describe the possible techniques to be applied (for example, effleurage, petrissage, stretching) and the methods used, such as myofascial and lymphatic drainage and therapies such as Cranio/Sacral. It is extremely important to discuss the importance of communication and feedback during massage, especially the importance of notifying your therapist of any discomfort or desire for the therapist to stop or modify treatment. We could apply the use of hand tools, such as stones, massage cups or percussion devices, which are used to apply massage techniques or materials, such as exfoliating salts, hot or cold compresses, Use massage lubricants, such as coconut-based oils , almonds and Vit E, natural and organic essential oil.

On the other hand, those who receive Cranio-Sacral therapy remain fully clothed at all times in a quiet and private environment, lie down or sit on a comfortably padded table where the therapy is carried out, these techniques are “Non-invasive” that consists of light and subtle touch on different parts of the body mostly the skull, spine or sacrum, where almost imperceptible methods are used when your therapist begins to monitor the rhythm of the fluid that flows around the central nervous system to assess the functioning in the system Cranio-Sacral; By listening carefully with the hands to locate areas of fluid flow or weak tissue movement, your doctor can trace those areas of weakness through the body to the original source of dysfunction. Delicate and imperceptible manual techniques are then used to release those problem areas and improve the form and function of your central nervous system. A Craniosacral Therapy session can last up to an hour or more. It can be used alone or integrated with other therapies to facilitate powerful changes. What each patient/client experiences in your own session is very individual.  The sessions are mostly deep and relaxing, creating sensations of heat or gentle pulsations in the areas where the therapist is working or in another area at a distance.

If you feel pain after a massage therapy session, don’t be alarmed, as this is a common reaction to therapy. Here are some suggestions that may help you:

Rest: Take time to rest after your session and allow your body to recover.

Drink enough water: Drink enough water to help flush out the toxins released during the massage.

Applying Hot or Cold Packs: If you experience pain or discomfort, you can use a hot or cold pack on the affected area to relieve the pain.

Contact your therapist: If symptoms persist or you have any concerns, contact your therapist and discuss the issue.

* It is important to remember that each person is different, and the answers may vary depending on their health needs and emotional state. Therefore, it is important to talk with your therapist about any needs or questions you have after the session.

* There is a risk of mild effects, such as a short-term increase in pain and stiffness that lasts for a few days. Approximately 10% of clients experience these effects and they did not affect their ability to perform normal activities at home and at work. Massage-related discomfort generally begins less than 12 hours after the session and lasts no more than 36 hours. (We want to point out that the first hours after the massage there could be muscular discomfort, but after sleeping and having drunk plenty of water, the day after the therapy you feel great relief, lightness and body freshness) Other negative side effects include bruising, headaches, tiredness and fatigue.
